Every now and again you come across someone that has an extensive musical background and loves all kinds of music. We have found her here at Sound Check.
About 5 years ago I became friends with a sweet blogger from GA. She was sassy, high spirited, and extremely talented. She was, and still is a great writer. Through the means of the Social Networking scene and Facebook/Twitter, we reconnected. We began to talk of what we were up to and I was telling her about the show, the fan page and how things have changed around here from the old talk format to the new music format where the requests come in from Twitter and Facebook. She though it was a great idea and started to listen to the show.
She came clean and said that she was a huge music lover of all kinds of music from the stretches of grassroots Country to Folk to good ole’ Classic Rock. She was hooked on us and the show and her requests showed it. She also said it one time that she was a “request whore”…but you didn’t hear those words from my mouth. She has passion, and deep appreciation for music of all kinds, and in this episode…it shows. She is known as Dizzy or Dizzygirl or just plain ole’ Gennie to most, but to us, she is a friend first and a true fan of Sound Check.
Dizzy was tapped on the shoulder about a month ago to head up the “Check List” Series, where fans of the show submit a play list and we (I) play it here on the show. She didn’t disappoint one bit in Episode 103. You will be introduced to some songs that you have never heard before and also taken back with some classics. This ended up a great play list and I am glad to say that the inaugural episode of the “Check List” series is and was a success.
If you want to follow Dizzy on Twitter, here is where you find her–>@Dizzygirl
You can find a related post to this podcast/Episode at her blog www.Dizzy-girl.net where she explains and goes into more detail about how she came up with the set list and also the meanings behind why she chose certain tracks.
Once again, thank you to everyone that supports the show and also to all of our fans on the Facebook Fan Page. If you love the show, all I can ask is to tell a friend to listen in and get them hooked as well. As a side note, we are FREE on ITunes and the link is on the right sidebar and it will take you right to the subscription page where you can get all episodes of the show.
A special thank you to Dizzy for her hard work on this show and I am looking forward to her musical influence on future shows.
Best to all,
CK

You did a great job putting all the puzzle pieces together, CK. It was a blast. Sorry for all the gray hairs associated with putting it together. You rock. I’m really happy with the episode!
Thanks koukla. Maybe one day when I get a half-decent mic, if he’ll have me. I wouldn’t mind doing another show.
